Terpene profile
Only 9 of the 190 matched tests report individual terpene values, too few for a profile (we chart terpenes reported by at least 10 tests). Median total terpenes: 1.48% (132 tests).1

How published THC figures compare
Strain databases publish a single figure or a range: Leafly lists 19%, Weedmaps 16–24% and AllBud 20–28%.2,3,4 Seed sellers claim 13–20% (Seed Supreme), up to 19% (Blim Burn Seeds) and 20% (Homegrown Cannabis Co. and ILGM).5,6,7,8 In state lab results, 90% of Maui Wowie flower tested below 21.00% and only 1.1% reached 25%, so the top of AllBud’s range describes rare flower rather than typical flower; the highest single result in our data was 26.68%.1
Medians differ by state, from 16.34% in Michigan (10 tests) to 20.03% in Washington (41), among states with at least 10 tests.1 In the years with at least 20 tests (2021–2023), the yearly median stayed between 16.74% and 18.88%.1 Maryland alone supplies 124 of the 190, so the figures mostly describe Maryland flower.1
Leafly lists myrcene, pinene and caryophyllene and names myrcene as the dominant terpene; Homegrown Cannabis Co. and Seed Supreme list terpinolene, myrcene and caryophyllene for their seed versions.2,5,7,9 Our lab data cannot check either account: 132 tests report a total terpene figure, 123 of them from Maryland, which reports only totals, but only 9 report individual terpenes, too few for a profile.1

Limits of this data
- Coverage is uneven. Maryland (124), Washington (41), Michigan (10), Hawaii (6) supply most of the 190 tests, which date from 2017 to 2024.1 Hawaii, where Leafly says the strain comes from, contributes only 6 of them, all from 2019, and California only one of them; Hawaii’s source records carry no THC values for tests dated December 2020 to August 2023, and Oregon and Rhode Island results carry no product names and could not be matched.1,2
- Some labs report higher THC than others, so we publish medians and middle ranges rather than maxima. No single lab accounts for more than 34.8% of these tests (19 labs in total).
- Only 9 tests report individual terpene values, so no terpene profile is shown.1 132 tests report a total terpene figure, 123 of them from Maryland, which reports only totals; Washington, Michigan and Hawaii report no terpenes.1
- We matched names strictly: crosses and near-miss names (for example “Maui Wowie x Cherry Pie”, 24 results) are excluded and counted, the spellings Maui Waui, Maui Wowee and Maui Wauie count as Maui Wowie, and duplicate certificates are removed. Bare numbers count as lot codes, so numbered labels are inside the sample.
